Math GRE - #1

If $F(1) = 2$ and $F(n) = F(n-1) + \frac{1}{2}$ for all integers $n > 1$, then $F(101) =$

  • 49
  • 50
  • 51
  • 52
  • 53
The closed form formula is $F(n) = 2 + \frac{n-1}{2} = \frac{n+3}{2}$. Thus, $F(101) = 52$ is the correct answer.
